Answers to the things people write in about most. If none of this covers it, get in touch and you will get a reply from the person who builds the app.
A price here is wrong
Prices are refreshed daily and a product page shows when each one was last seen, so a price can lag a retailer that has just changed one. Prices can also differ by store location, and between a retailer's online and in-store prices. The retailer's own site and the price at the checkout are authoritative.
If a price is wrong beyond that, use the report link on the product page, or email us with the product page address and what the store is actually showing. That is enough to find and fix it.
Two different products are on one page
Listings are grouped into one product using the barcode where a store publishes one, and otherwise brand, name and pack size. That grouping is occasionally wrong, usually on multipacks and on own-label lines that share a name. Report it from the product page and say which store's listing does not belong.
A product is missing
Not every line at every store is covered, and a product can drop out while a store has it unavailable. Send the name, the store and a link to the retailer's own page for it if you have one.
Price alerts
Save a product to get an alert when it drops at any store that sells it, or follow a brand or a keyword to hear about drops across everything matching it. You choose how large a drop is worth an alert, and whether alerts arrive by push notification, email, or both, under Profile then Notification preferences. Every email carries an unsubscribe link.
Baskets
A basket totals up at each store so you can see where the whole shop is cheapest, using the listed prices only. Baskets sync across the devices you are signed in on, and can be shared with someone else.
Accounts
You do not need an account to compare prices or read price history. An account adds saved products, alerts, lists and syncing. To delete an account and its data, follow the account deletion steps.
Privacy and data requests
What is collected, why, how long it is kept and who processes it is set out in the privacy policy, which also explains how to ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or have it erased. Analytics only run if you agree to them, and you can change that choice at any time in the app under Profile then Privacy.
Response times
MyGroceryPal is run by one person in the UK, so replies normally take a couple of days rather than minutes. Data requests under UK GDPR are answered within one month, as the privacy policy sets out.
